LAKEPORT— Ginny Craven, (left) member of the Caymus Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and founder of Operation Tango Mike, receives an excellence in community service award from Regent Dianne Fraser (right) recognizing Craven’s work helping to organize and to send 100 boxes a month to active military. Also presented was a California State Society, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Award for a DAR Patriot Project during a ceremony held at the Joy Madeiros Veterans Museum. To date the nonprofit that has shipped more than 23,000 care packages to deployed military personnel. Many prominent community members and county officials were in attendance including Lakeport Chief of Police Brad Rasmussen, Lake County Sheriff Brian Martin and Lake County Chamber of Commerce CEO Melissa Fulton.
