LAKEPORT— The Lake County Chamber of Commerce will be filming the presentation of the community awards for 2021 on May 1, with the video available for viewing on Sunday May 2 The video of all the Stars nominees became available on the afternoon of April 24 at https://youtu.be/eLsxHSxKJ2Y
This year the Lake County community members came out in force, submitting 79 nominations in 22 categories. Organizers said that the wonder of this program is learning about all the outstanding efforts of so many making Lake County such a wonderful place, adding that any of the entities nominated each year would remain unknown to our greater population without the Stars program. Chamber CEO Melissa Fulton states, “this is the highlight of each year, to find out about all these hidden secrets of Lake County.”
For many years, Stars has been held at Soper Reese Theater with 250 in attendance. Due to the pandemic, Fulton said that the chamber staff is filming the awards presentation with only the recipients and sponsors attending to create the video on May 1. She noted that masking and social distancing are the order of the day.
This program, the only one of its kind in Lake County, is made possible through the support of several businesses in the County. These are listed on the Chamber website at: www.lakecochamber.com, click on Events, Stars of Lake County.
