CLOVERDALE — Anthony Hills of Lower Lake High School won the 200- and 400-meter runs Wednesday during a Coastal Mountain Conference track and field meet on the new Cloverdale High School all-weather surface.
St. Helena, Technology and Calistoga rounded out the five-team field along with Lower Lake and host Cloverdale.
Hills, Angelo Pelcastre, Jose Hernandez and Mitchell Noble all won events for Lower Lake in the varsity boys field. Hills was the lone double-event winner as he clocked in at 25.0 seconds in the 200 and 55.6 in the 400. In other running events, Pelcastre won the 800 in 2 minutes, 13 seconds and was the runner-up in the 1,600 at 4:54, placing behind Abraham Arzola of Tech at 4:49. Hernandez won the 3,200 in 12:18, finishing nearly two minutes ahead of the runner-up.
In the field events, Lower Lake’s Mitchell Noble won the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, 1/2 inch, and he also was fourth in the long jump at 16-8 1/2. The long jump winner was Dylan Lyon of Cloverdale at 18-7.
Also for Lower Lake, Elijah Cooke placed second in both the shotput (35-6 1/2) and discus (76-10). Cal Lehman of St. Helena won the shotput in 37-1 3/4 while Liam Hinson of Tech took top honors in the discus at 82-2. After Hinson, the next four finishers were from Lower Lake — Cooke, Adam Viramontes (69-9), Tristen Ales (66-2) and Joseph Bickham (63-0).
In relay action, Lower Lake’s 4×400 “A” team came in second in 3:49.7, edged out by St. Helena (3:48.5).
Other notable Lower Lake finishes went to Jon Fabela, who was third in the 100 at 12.4. The top two spots went to Joe Faso and Dylan Lyon, both of Cloverdale, at 12.1. Lower Lake’s Baiaku Redhawk also placed fifth in the 200 (27.3) won by teammate Hills. And Lower Lake’s Leo Brown placed fourth in both the 800 (2:18) won by Pelcastre and the 1,600 (5:16) won by Arzola.
Girls
In girls action, Lower Lake’s Molly Collins won the 1,600 in 7:46 while Gabby Pelcastre placed fourth in the 200 (32.9), which was won by Mia Hernandez of St. Helena (27.7).
In field events, Lower Lake’s Katelyn Ferrell turned in another strong outing, placing second in both the shotput (22-1 1/4) and the discus (53-5). Andrea Villasenor of Calistoga won both events, throwing 28-11 3/4 in the shotput and 57-6 in the discus.

Lower Lake’s track teams return home next Wednesday to host Middletown, Upper Lake and Calistoga at 3:30 p.m.
