FORT BRAGG — Brenden Jones of Clear Lake High School won one event and finished second in three others Wednesday afternoon during a Coastal Mountain Conference track and field meet in Fort Bragg where Clear Lake’s Hannah Garrity won the girls 1,600- and 3,200-meter races.

Mendocino and Technology high schools also participated.

Boys

Jones finished first in the 400 meters in 1 minute, 3 seconds, one of the few running events not won by meet host Fort Bragg. He also placed second in the 200, which was won by Fort Bragg’s Russel Gordon in 26.4. Jones finished in 26.7.

In field events, Jones cleared 5 feet, 2 inches in the high jump to finish second behind Fort Bragg’s Henry Yeomans (6-0). Jones also was second in the triple jump at 17-10. Winner Soujit Ing of Technology jumped 21-5.

Clear Lake added a third-place finish in the 100 as Tyler Haskell ran 13.3 seconds. Winner Alan Moran of Fort Bragg had a time of 12.0.

Final team scoring had Fort Bragg with 170 points to 101 for Technology, 45 for Clear Lake and 24 for Mendocino.

Girls

Garrity ran 5:44 to win the 1,600 and 12;27 to take top honors in the 3,200.

Fort Bragg dominated team scoring with 221 points to Technology’s 27 and Clear Lake’s 20.

Schedule

Clear Lake joins Upper Lake, St. Helena and Sonoma Academy next Wednesday in Kelseyville at 3:30 pm.
