The Lake County Public Services Department offers a tire amnesty program that provides free disposal of waste tires.

This program is funded through a grant from California’s Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). The most recent tire amnesty round has ended as a result of grant funding being completely spent. Lake County has successfully recycled over 14,000 tires since July 1, 2019.

As soon as a future tire amnesty program is available again the County will post information to their websites and social media platforms.

As an alternative, tires can always be taken to the Lake County Waste Solutions Transfer Station at 230 Soda Bay Road in Lakeport or the South Lake Refuse and Recycling Center at 16015 Davis Avenue in Clearlake at any time for a small fee.
