There certainly will be some changes for the Middletown High School varsity baseball team next season after seven of its players, including several starters, graduate in a few weeks. Those seniors lost out on nearly all of their junior season as well as part of their senior year (most of the preseason and no postseason) because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they did make the most of the 22 games they were able to play in 2021 by going 14-8 overall, including a 10-4 league mark that garnered them a solo second-place finish in the North Central League I standings under the leadership of head coach Jon Hoogendoorn. Among those seniors were, from left, Middletown High School seniors Tanner Pachie, Hunter Blair and Justin Hollingsworth. Pachie and Blair were recently named to the All-League team on a vote of the league’s coaches. (Photos by Bob Minenna)
