LAKE COUNTY>>> According to a recent Bay Area News Group editorial, since the founding of America, more than 1 million people have died in service of our country. Over the weekend, memorials as well as traditional celebrations returned to Lake County after a one year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In Lakeport on Saturday, the annual parade organized and presented by the Lakeport Main Street Association returned to downtown Lakeport, albeit with COVID protocols observed. A throng of enthusiastic spectators lined the streets to participate in the festivities. In South County the following day, the annual Lower Lake Daze Parade entertained the crowds followed by a street fair featuring vendors and all manner of tasty treats.
