LAKE COUNTY— “Honoring, reflecting and remembering” was the theme of the 2021 Memorial Day Parade as presented by the Lakeport Main Street Association during the long holiday weekend. Revelers descended on downtown Lakeport’s Main Street Saturday to partake in the festivities while observing social distance protocols as much as possible. Meanwhile, in South County, parade goers who attended the 2021 Lower Lake Daze Memorial Parade were treated to everything from the sounds of the Lower Lake High School marching band, to classic cars, motorcycles, a mariachi band, Charros dancing, horses dancing to the mariachi band music and monster trucks on display. Revelers also had their choice of food vendors ranging from barbecue smoked oysters, hot dogs and smoked turkey legs, among other delectable treats. The parade included participation from the California Highway Patrol, Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Lake County Fire Protection District. (Photo courtesy of Russell Bishop)
