MADERA — The North State Modified Series, presented by Protect the Harvest, visits Madera Speedway for the second time this season Saturday for the sixth points race of the 2021 season.
The North State Modified Series main event at Madera Speedway will be tape delayed for the Madera Racing Series on MAVTV. It is the first of a three-race series sponsored by Mission Foods and features local Mission Modified drivers running with the open-engine NSMS modifieds.
“Madera Speedway is filming this race for MAVTV to give the modified drivers a nationwide audience,” Madera Speedway promoter Kenny Shepherd said. “Race number one of the Mission Modified Series that we filmed in May at Madera airs on MAVTV on September 27th.” The winner of that May 8 race was defending NSMS champion Kyle Tellstrom of Ukiah.

Terry Deal of Economy Heating and Air is once again adding to the purse and will pay the top three finishing 602 crate-engine-modified drivers bonuses of $750, $500 and $250 over and above their regular payout. The Lucas Oil Tow Money bonus has been expanded to all drivers taking the green flag. Economy Heating & Air also is giving the top 10 finishing drivers not in the NSMS points another $100 bonus.
“I’m also adding another $1,000 bonus to this event,” Deal said. That money would go to any past North State Modified Series champion, past Twisted Tea champion or any modified driver who has won a race at Madera under the sanction of NSMS or Twisted Tea and who can beat NSMS defending champion Tellstrom and win the race.
The North State Modified Series would not be possible without the support of Protect the Harvest, Lucas Oil, Economy Heating & Air, Sullivan Construction and Masonry, Mission Foods, Hoosier Tire West, Sunoco Race Fuels, Naake Suspension, Five Star Bodies, Racer Bling, Mark & Sharon Baldwin, Scribner Plastics, Mort Houston, McMurray & Sons Roofing, Frank’s Radios, Supercuts, Vogel’s RVs, and Authority Heating & Air.
