A wildland fire called the Diamond Incident on Hwy 29 near Hofacker Lane south of Lower Lake burned nearly five acres according to Cal Fire personnel on scene. The Fire started around 6 p.m. and was 80% contained at 7:33 p.m. with two hours of mop up. 65 firefighters where on the fire. Eight engines, two dozers, one Cal Fire Helicopter 104, two air attack planes and one Spotter plane were utilized. Fire Departments on scene included South Co., Cal Fire, Lakeport Fire, Kelseyville , Lake Co. Fire Protection. With continued high temperatures and low humidity fire fighting officials urge everyone to practice fire safety/preparedness, a good place to start is making sure everyone is signed up for NIXLE it.
