ASTI — Daniel Bratton and Jose Hernandez of Lower Lake finished only three seconds apart while claiming the top two boys times Wednesday afternoon during a Coastal Mountain Conference cross country tri-meet at the 3-mile Asti course just south of Cloverdale.

Willits also took part.

Bratton hit the finish line in 20 minutes, 58 seconds with teammate Hernandez close behind at 21:01. Dylan Lyon of Cloverdale placed third in 22:05.

The Trojans ran a complete boys team (at least five runners) for the first time this season. Other Lower Lake finishers were Aiden Hernandez in sixth place (25:49), Dylan Watson in eighth (32:45), and Skyler Day in 12th (45:42).

“They rocked the course,” Lower Lake head coach Jenna Krick said of her complete team.

Lower Lake and Fort Bragg travel to Santa Rosa next Wednesday to compete against Roseland University Prep in a conference tri-meet.
