ST. HELENA — Kelseyville High School’s Summer Anderson ran a personal-best time of 28 minutes, 30 seconds to finish third among the girls field Wednesday afternoon during a Coastal Mountain Conference cross country meet at the 3.1-mile Bothe-Napa Valley State Park course near St. Helena.

Cloverdale, host St. Helena and a handful of runners from PUC Preparatory School also participated in the meet.

“I was impressed,” Kelseyville head coach Becca Brookes said of Anderson’s strong finish. “That was a highlight for us. She had a good day.”

Zoe Katz of Cloverdale posted the top girls time of 25:43. Ari Fossa of Kelseyville finished eighth in 35:25 while teammate Grace Agustinovich was ninth in 45:19.

The Knights’ top runner, Carly Vanoven, missed the meet because of a volleyball commitment.

Boys

Cleo McClain of St. Helena had the top boys time of 17:30, nearly two and a half minutes faster than the runner-up.

For Kelseyville, Elliott Mayo came in sixth at 22:54, Alex Fordham was ninth in 23:43, and new runner Travis Bramlett-Boyles finished his first race in 12th place at 25:41.

Course

“It was a pretty perfect cross country course,” Brookes said of the Bothe State Park layout. “The majority (of the course) was on trails with about 2 miles of rolling hills, mostly shaded.”

Schedule

Kelseyville joins St. Helena and Cloverdale again next Wednesday at the 3.1-mile Asti course just south of Cloverdale.
