LOWER LAKE — The St. Helena Saints led 28-0 after one quarter and 42-0 by halftime en route to a 56-0 victory over the Lower Lake Trojans in North Central League I varsity football action Friday night at Gordon Sadler Field.
“It was a tough one to be sure,” Lower Lake head coach Jeremy Jakubowski said. “We killed ourselves with penalties.”
St. Helena (2-0 league, 4-1 overall) scored on a 21-yard run on the third play from scrimmage and never looked back. After the Trojans gambled and lost on a fourth-and-short play, the Saints scored again.
Lower Lake had only 108 yards of offense.
Now 0-2 in league play and 0-4 overall, the Trojans’ job doesn’t get any easier next Friday when they travel to Lakeport to play Clear Lake (2-0, 4-1).
