SANTA ROSA — Kelseyville played better each set in a 25-7, 25-17, 25-23 loss to Roseland University Prep in North Central League I varsity volleyball action Monday night in Santa Rosa.
“What was impressive is we started picking up their hitters,” Kelseyville head coach Donelle McCallister said of the improved play of her defense, which was led by Jayden Paulich with 14 digs, Olivia Hommer with 11 digs and Makaylah Meyer with 10 digs.
Kelseyville’s offense also adjusted to the RUP defense, angling it shots toward open holes instead of pounding the ball right at the undefeated NCL I leaders.
“They’re a good team, solid and play good defense,” McCallister said.
Larue Furlani’s nine kills led Kelseyville and Kaylei Davis added seven more.
RUP is now 10-0 in league play. Kelseyville fell to 2-6.
