ASTI — Elliott Mayo and Carly Vanderwall posted Kelseyville High School’s top times Wednesday during a Coastal Mountain Conference cross country meet on the 3.1-mile Asti course just south of Cloverdale.
Hosted by Cloverdale, the scheduled three-team meet with Kelseyville and St. Helena — the same teams that raced a week ago at Bothe State Park near St. Helena — picked up a fourth team in Fort Bragg because the Timberwolves’ scheduled away meet with Lower Lake and Roseland University Prep was canceled.

All of the runners enjoyed the seasonable weather, according to Kelseyville head coach Becca Brookes, as the race-time temperature was around 70 degrees, a good 20-30 degrees cooler than the same time last month.
“It was perfect fall weather,” Brookes said.
Boys
Cleo McClain of St. Helena ran away from the boys field with a winning time of 17 minutes, 30 seconds on an Asti course that winds its way through rolling hills and vineyards.
“It’s a good, tough course,” Brookes said.
Mayo claimed fourth place at 20:15 while teammates Alex Fordham (23:25) and Evan Weller (26:14) placed 10th and 12th, respectively.
“Elliott got out a bit fast but he had a strong finish,” Brookes said of the sophomore.
Girls
Vanderwall, also a sophomore, ended up fifth overall among the girls with a time of 27:54. Race winner Maisie Martin of Fort Bragg crossed the finish line in 22:51.
Also for the Knights, Summer Anderson came in 11th at 31:23 while Ari Fossa and Grace Agustinovich crossed the finish line together at 40:15.
Schedule
Kelseyville hosts Middletown and Lower Lake in its final home meet of the season Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
