BROOKTRAILS — Kelseyville High School fielded a complete boys team Wednesday afternoon as the Knights beat Willits and Fort Bragg in Coastal Mountain Conference action on the 2.87-mile Brooktrails course near Willits.
Elliott Mayo led the Knights with a second-place time of 19 minutes, 47 seconds. The Kelseyville sophomore joined race winner Chris Island of Fort Bragg (19:16) as the only two runners to finish in less than 20 minutes.
Also for the Knights, Alex Fordham came in fourth in 20:47, Travis Bramlett was fifth in 22:13, Evan Wellar placed sixth in 22:52, and Joshua Fossa was eighth in 31:33. Bramlett was running his first race for Kelseyville.
Neither Willits or Fort Bragg had complete teams (five or more runners).
Girls
Among the girls competing Wednesday, Maizie Martin of Fort Bragg posted the fast time of 20:52 while Willits runners Nicole Keough (21:01) and Savannah Lewis (23:38) came in second and third, respectively.
For Kelseyville, Ari Fossa placed 10th in 34:08 while teammate Grace Agustinovich was 12th in 37:51. The Knights were without both Carly Vanderwall and Summer Anderson.
Fort Bragg had the only complete girls team.

Kelseyville’s final conference meet is next Wednesday against Roseland University Prep and Clear Lake at the Highland Springs course just south of Lakeport. Racing begins at 3:30 p.m.
The CMC Championships are Nov. 10 at Spring Lake in Santa Rosa.
