
REDDING — Joey Gentle and Tyler Bryant of Kelseyville represented the Lake County High School Fishing Club in style Saturday by teaming up to win the Shasta Lake Halloween Open bass tournament tournament hosted by the Nor Cal Junior Bass Club and based out of Bridge Bay Marina in Redding.
The only Lake County High School Fishing Club team entered, the Gentle-Bryant duo caught five fish weighing a combined 13.28 pounds, including the tournament’s big fish of 5.28 pounds. Their boat captain was 2019 Kelseyville High graduate Nathan Phillips, who now attends Simpson University in Redding and fishes for the Simpson collegiate team.
Twenty-eight teams took part in the tournament.
Gentle and Bryant also won the last tournament they entered back in August at the Delta. Both are multi-sport athletes at Kelseyville High School.
