KELSEYVILLE >> The Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League will crown its 2021 champions Saturday at Kelseyville High School where the top pee wee, junior varsity and varsity teams meet beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The Middletown Colts have the opportunity to capture all three titles on the final day of the season. Two of Middletown’s teams (pee and JV) are also gunning for perfect records.

Up first Saturday is the pee wee championship game between Middletown (12-0) and Westshore (11-1), a rematch of a Sept. 25 game won 20-19 by the Colts at Lakeport.

The second game Saturday, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m., pairs the Colts (12-0) against Kelseyville (11-1) in a rematch of an Aug. 28 game won 20-0 by the Colts at Middletown.

Action wraps up Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. with the varsity championship game matching Middletown (11-1) against Sonoma (7-4). Middletown’s only loss during the regular season was to Westshore (10-1), which was upset by Sonoma in the opening round of the playoffs last weekend. In a regular-season meeting Oct. 2 between Middletown and Sonoma at Sonoma, Middletown prevailed 44-8.
