
LAKE COUNTY — The Clear Lake and Middletown varsity football squads each landed five players on the All-North Central League I first team as recently selected by the league’s coaches.
The number of players each team received this year was tied to a formula that took into account league wins.
Undefeated league champion St. Helena had the most players honored with nine first-teamers, including the most valuable player on offense, senior running back Harrison Ronayne, and the MVP on defense, senior middle linebacker Ivan Robledo.

The All-NCL I team consists of a first team, which includes both offensive and defensive players, and a list of honorable mentions, each of the league’s eight teams receiving one apiece.
Cloverdale and Willits each landed four players on the first team, Kelseyville had two and Fort Bragg and Lower Lake one apiece.
First team
For the Middletown Mustangs, All-League first-teamers were senior quarterback Luke Hoogendoorn, senior linemen Jacob Perry and Nathan Corsetti, senior tight end Brody Breeden and junior running back Elijah Diaz.
For the Clear Lake Cardinals, All-League first-team picks were senior quarterback Jack Daskam, senior lineman Ty Harmon, senior wide receivers Tyler Haskell and Zane Robinson and senior running back Ethan Maize.
Kelseyville’s two All-League first-teamers were junior linemen Steven Frace and Sam Vanoven.
Lower Lake senior defensive back Dominick Perez also made the first-team cut.

Besides MVPs Ronayne and Robledo for St. Helena, the Saints’ Spencer Printz, Vincent Altemus, Henry Dixon, Orlando Segura, Jorge Gonzalez, Alexzander Svenningsen and Cal Lehman, all seniors, were honored.
For Cloverdale, juniors Casey Lemley and Ayai Fitchelberg and seniors Dylan Muller and David Alvarez earned first-team honors.
Willits’ first-team players were juniors Jayden Arnold, Grant Forrester and Shaun Stockley, and senior CJ Powers.
Bryson Orsi, a Fort Bragg senior, rounded out the first-team selections.
Honorable mentions
The eight players receiving honorable mentions were junior Axel Alvarez of Clear Lake, senior Lander Hockett of Kelseyville, senior Baia-ku Redhawk of Lower Lake, junior Jesse Young of Middletown, junior Charlie Knight of St. Helena, senior Javier Alvarez of Cloverdale, junior Chance Tager of Fort Bragg, and Willits sophomore Kooper Dockins.
