PETALUMA — Middletown High School’s junior varsity boys basketball team dropped a 49-31 decision to an undefeated St. Vincent squad on Wednesday in Petaluma.

“They were very good,” Middletown head coach Jake Diehl said. “They had some juniors on the JV squad. They are now 8-0.”

Oscar Cruz scored 13 points for Middletown and Brandon Costlow had eight as the Mustangs fell to 6-3 overall.

Middletown’s teams are home next Wednesday against St. Helena in North Central League I action. Middletown won its first two league games before the winter break and plays two more next week.
