LAKEPORT — The 34th annual Clear Lake Team Bass Tournament takes place March 12-13 at Clear Lake and pays back 100 percent of entries fees to the competing fishermen.

Walk-in sign-ups begin today at 9 a.m. at the Lake County Chamber of Commerce office at 875 Lakeport Blvd. in Lakeport. Those walking in sign-ups will receive the lowest blast-off numbers available for day one of the tournament. The blast-off order is reversed on day two.

Sponsored by the Lake County Chamber of Commerce, the Clear Lake Team Bass Tournament has contracted with American Bass to run this year’s weigh-ins. Professional and amateur fishermen are welcome to participate. The team entry fee is $200 and will not be refunded unless the tournament is canceled. Boats must be at least 14 feet in length with engines of at least 40 horsepower. Boats must have current quagga mussel stickers before they will be allowed onto the lake. A complete set of rules is available from tournament officials.

There are big-fish prizes of $1,000 each day. The team weighing in the heaviest bag during the tournament also earns a $1,000 bonus. Last year’s team winners received $5,500.

Rules and online entry forms can be obtained at lakecochamber.com or you can call (707) 263-5092 for more tournament information.
