CORNING — Four young ladies from Lake County won belt buckles last weekend during the District 2 Junior High/High School rodeo held in Corning.

Jadyn Owens, a sixth-grader at Minnie Cannon Elementary School in Middletown, scored wins on consecutive days in the Junior High barrel racing event. She posted the highest average score between those two rides to win the barrel racing belt buckle.

Braelynn Munk, a sixth-grader at Minnie Cannon Elementary School, won the Junior High breakaway event Saturday and also finished with the highest average between her two rides to win the belt buckle in that event.

Also posting the top averages and winning belt buckles in their respective events were Mazzi McAllister, a ninth-grader at Kelseyville High School, in pole bending, and Lilly Samson, a 12th-grader at Middletown High School, in goat tying.

Upcoming District 2 rodeos are Feb. 18-19 and March 26, both at Corning.
