HEALDSBURG — Playing under the lights at Recreation Park in Healdsburg, the Clear Lake Cardinals managed only two hits in a 5-0 non-league varsity baseball loss ot the host Greyhounds.

Singles from losing pitcher Maddox Albaum and Drake Smart were all the offense Clear Lake (3-3) could muster in its final tuneup before the start of North Central League I play Friday at Willits.

Healdsburg scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings to build a 3-0 lead. The Greyhounds added two more runs in the fifth, chasing Albaum from the mound. Drake Smart came on in relief and finished up, allowing no hits or runs in his two innings. He struck out three and walked none.

Clear Lake struck out 11 times against two Healdsburg pitchers and stranded seven runners.
