MIDDLETOWN — Sign-ups for the Middletown Bocce Ball League are now under way as the 2022 season approaches.
The upcoming season takes part in two sessions, May 2 through June 23 and Aug. 27 through Oct. 13.Teams consist of four to eight members with ages ranging from the teens to 85. A year ago the league drew 13 teams with an overall league membership of 85 players from Middletown, Cobb, Hidden Valley Lake, Clearlake Oaks, Nice and Santa Rosa.
Each team plays one match per week. Matches take place Mondays and Thursdays beginning at 6 p.m. at 21443 Pine St. in Middletown. Matches typically last two to three hours.
The registration fee is $50.
No prior experience is necessary and the sport is easy to learn for athletes, couch potatoes and the handicapped.
