MIDDLETOWN— Spring has sprung and with its arrival, so has the opening of “Gypsy Juice”, Lake County’s first drive through cold pressed juice establishment. “Gypsy Juice” celebrated its Grand opening on March 31. Located at 21016 Highway 29 right across from Middletown High school, they offer a variety of cold pressed juices, smoothies, lemonade and small bites. After months of arduous planning, founder and owner Megan Sutton is excited to have the business open and said, “I truly hope to deliver health and wellness to our community.”

Having grown up in Middletown and now having a child of her own, Sutton said she saw the need for healthier yet convenient options for the community and seized the opportunity to rent a storefront across from the high school. Sutton, who also owns “Beauty and the Blade” a cosmetic tattoo shop in Middletown, first hatched the plan for “Gypsy Juice” back in 2014 while living in Sonoma. Sutton said, “This has been a dream of mine since completing Food and Nutrition for Healthcare at Santa Rosa Junior College back in 2014.”  When the pandemic hit Sutton moved back to Middletown and said, “I remember how special this place is” realizing it was time to make her dream a reality as many other businesses were closing and there were no options that offered anything healthy, especially on the go. Despite facing some unfortunate hurdles and lots of red tape, Sutton explained “Being a single mom a majority of my child’s life,  I am thrilled to be able to build a business to possibly leave him one day.” With strength and determination “Gypsy Juice” persevered, offering the community fresh and organic convenient options, especially for those with an early morning commute.

The menu is organically crafted, with cold pressed juices like “Forbidden Ruby”, “Sweet Sunrise” and “Salad in a Bottle.” The smoothie selection includes “Rise and Grind” and “Gypsy Blue”, as well as lemonade sweetened with honey and a small selection of coffee and espresso drinks. They will also have a selection of small plates like avocado toast and protein bites and create all menu items with fresh organic produce, sourced as locally as possible. Knowing how hard it can be to get one’s daily intakes of fruits and vegetables, Sutton’s goal with the menu is to help make that easier for locals and provide customers with “organic plant-based protein.” More information and their full menu can be found online on their Facebook Page or Instagram @gypsyjuicedrivethru
