CLEARLAKE OAKS — Winning pitcher Ashlyn Wurm struck out 12 and hit a grand slam to help lift Upper Lake to a 14-8 road win over Konocti in middle school softball action Monday afternoon at Clearlake Oaks.
“Their pitcher was pretty good,” Konocti head coach Luis Perez said of Wurm, who went the distance for Upper Lake to earn the victory.
Upper Lake avenged an earlier 15-14 loss to Konocti, according to Perez.
“Upper Lake was on their game today,” Perez said.
Losing pitcher Aly Aguirre went 3-for-3 and scored three times for Konocti, now 5-5 on the season. Mirabel Swank collected her first hit of the season, a triple.
Konocti returns to action Wednesday against Eagle Peak in Ukiah.
