UPPER LAKE — Jordyn Wurm homered in her first at-bat Wednesday afternoon as Upper Lake went on to beat Terrace School of Lakeport 7-6 in middle school softball action at Upper Lake.
Wurm, a sixth-grader, catches for the Wildcats. After she homered, eighth-grade teammate Yadira Beecher, the team’s second baseman, tripled.
“Terrace is a strong team and today was a great matchup,” Upper Lake head coach Janice Klier said. “Our Upper Lake girls really kept their heads in the game and worked together to earn this victory at home.”
It was only the second homne game of the season for Upper Lake.
