Upper Lake High School senior and multi-sport standout Zoey Petrie signed her letter of intent to attend Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon, during a brief ceremony Friday afternoon at the school's student center where she was joined by family and friends, including dad Bryan Petrie and mom Annie Pivniska Petrie, the principal at Upper Lake High School. During the course of her career at Upper Lake Petrie has participated in five sports, most notably basketball and volleyball, but also softball, cross country and track while also carrying a 4.20 grade point average. She'll continue her academic and athletic pursuits at Multnomah, a private non-denominational Christian university that competes in NAIA. Another Upper Lake great, Katherine (Edmonds) Escobedo, also attended Multnomah. Escobedo, a 2012 Upper Lake graduate, is now the head coach of the Mendocino College volleyball and women's basketball teams.  See more photos on Page 10. (Photos by Brian Sumpter)
