It was an orange and black sweep in 2016-17 when (from left) Kyle Ellis, Riley Goff and Logan Barrick won the Athlete of the Year award. Ellis and Barrick shared boys honors that season. The 10 finalists for the 2021-22 award will be profiled beginning in Monday’s online and Tuesday’s print edition of the Record-Bee. The winners will be named next month. Athlete of the Year finalists are juniors or seniors who compete in at least two varsity sports and are in good academic standing at their respective schools. Only participation in CIF-sponsored sports is considered. It is not a career achievement award and only takes into account athletic accomplishments during the 2021-22 season. (File photo)
