

LAKE COUNTY — A baker’s dozen worth of Lake County players have been honored on the 2022 All-North Central League I baseball team as selected by the league’s coaches.
The number of All-League spots a team received depended on where it finished in the standings. League champion St. Helena received the most with seven, including most valuable player honors for senior Jasper Henry.

Runner-up Middletown, which finished 12-2 in th league standings to St. Helena’s 13-1, received the next-most All-League players with five, including first-team selections Luke Hoogendoorn and Cole Ketchum, both seniors. The Mustangs’ other All-Leaguers were second-team selection Noah Williams, a senior, and honorable mentions Dax Green and Zach Dubois, both seniors.
Kelseyville, tied with Fort Bragg for third place in the final standings at 8-6, had three All-League players, all of them underclassmen. First-team honors went to freshman Tyler Bryant while freshman teammate Brock Barrick was a second-team selection. Junior Joey Gentle came away with an honorable mention.
Clear Lake, sixth in the NCL I standings at 5-9, was represented by first-team pick Ethan Maize, a senior, second-team selection Drake Smart, a senior, and honorable mention Cody Hayes, a sophomore.

Lower Lake, tied for last in the league standings with Willits, had two players honors — senior second-team selection Xander Hernandez and junior honorable mention Jordan O’Keefe.
The Lake County Record-Bee will release its All-County team later this month.
