Local Preschool teacher retires after 44 years of teaching
Local Preschool Teacher, Terrie Sullivan, is retiring after 44 years of teaching and caring for countless young students of Lake County. Fueled by her passion for helping young children, Sullivan has influenced the lives of generations of preschoolers at her preschool known as Precious Moments Preschool. In addition, Sullivan has guided several outstanding assistants over the course of her career. Her most recent assistant, Kelsey Robinson, was a graduate of Precious Moments Preschool, as well as Robinson’s two children. “Terrie has impacted mine and so many others lives through her many years teaching preschool. She has been my preschool teacher, my dance teacher, my friend and my mentor. She taught me my ABC’s, my jazz hands and more recently taught me how to not just teach, but also love 30 students unconditionally all at the same time, said Robinson.
One last time, Precious Moments Preschool recently held their Graduation in Lakeport. 19 graduates were promoted to kindergarten and received their diplomas on Thursday, June 16. Surrounded by family and friends, the young graduates entertained the audience with songs they learned at the preschool and celebrated their achievements. Sullivan thanked everyone that contributed to making graduation night possible.
“Graduation is truly a labor of love, said Sullivan, who was also surrounded by her family and friends. It was apparent how much “Miss Terrie”, as everyone knows her, is loved and adored, by seeing all of the cards and flowers that filled her preschool. When asked what she will be doing next, Sullivan responded by saying she will be enjoying more time with her kids and grandkids.
