LOWER LAKE— A Fire started on or near Tekla Way in Lower Lake, around 3 p.m. Friday. The fire was spotted by the Lookout on Mt. Konocti. The blaze was contained to 21 acres, although officials said it was too early to determine the cause of the fire. Fire crews along with PG&E remained on the fire throughout the night to mop up and extinguish hot spots in the interior. Firefighters were still on the scene early Saturday morning mopping up. Fire Crews on the ground had great support from air attack in controlling the fire according to responders on the scene. According to CAL FIRE reports, more than 27,000 acres have burned during 2022 in more than 4,000 incidents. The biggest thus far this fire season has been the Electra Fire which encompasses two counties, Amador and Calaveras and which had burned close to 4,500 acres as of Monday press time.
