COBB >> The 39th annual Lake County Amateur Golf Championship takes place Aug. 27-28 at Adams Springs Golf Course on Cobb Mountain.
The $110 entry fee includes two rounds of tournament golf, the prize fund, trophies, lunch and tournament tee prizes. The Amateur features divisions for men’s scratch, net, senior and senior net golfers.
Billy Witt, a top area golfer who is the superintendent at Hidden Vally Lake Golf Course, is the defending champion. Witt is also the defending senior champ. Other flight champs from last year are net Tom Salie (net) and Brian Stork (senior net).
