LAKEPORT— The Lakeport City Council will hold a public hearing on delinquent utility accounts during their Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, meeting.
There are a total of 18 parcels with delinquent bills, totaling in the amount of $9,227.85
The accounts have been identified by the Finance Department as delinquent as of May 31, 2022.
In order to collect on these accounts, the city is required to notify the delinquent account holders and give them an opportunity to bring their account current. Utility bills and delinquency notices are mailed monthly. Final notice to delinquent accounts, as of May 31, 2022, were sent to property owners on July 16, 2022.
In other council business, the Lakeport City Council is being asked to authorize the Lakeport Police Chief to enter into an agreement with the City of Clearlake to provide supplemental law enforcement services due to staffing challenges.
According to the staff report, the Clearlake Police Department has sufficient staffing to provide this coverage on an overtime basis without negatively impacting coverage in Clearlake.
They city council is also being asked to designate disabled parking spaces within the city for the upcoming Lake County Fair.
The spaces up for designation are the entire 200 block of C Street, between South Forbes Street and the C Street entrance to the fairgrounds and the entire block of D Street, between South Forbes Street and the D Street entrance to the fairgrounds.
This will start from 4 p.m. Thursday, September 1, through Sunday, September 4, at midnight.
According to a staff report, the approval of temporary additional designated disabled parking spaces would allow those with disabilities to have sufficient parking and reduce the potential for traffic congestion and safety concerns at the main entrance.
