Lower Lake’s pee wee youth football team spent Monday evening at Lower Lake High School working on running plays for the first time in practice this season as it prepares for its Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League opener Aug. 20 at Middletown. The Trojans finished 7-3 in the pee wee standings a year ago, one of the best records in the league. This is the second week of practice for MLEJFL teams as they work up to the start of the 2022 season. The home opener for Lower Lake’s youth teams is Aug. 27 against Willits. The regular season runs through Oct. 22 with two weeks of playoffs to follow. (Photos by Minenna Photography)
