The Kelseyville Chiefs pee wee and junior varsity football teams were hard at work Wednesday evening at Lloyd Larson Field in Kelseyville where they were busily preparing for their Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League season opener Aug. 20 at Sonoma. The Chiefs return home Aug. 27 to host Northshore. A year ago the Chiefs' junior varsity squad reached the league championship game after posting a 9-1 regular-season record.
