Lower Lake High School football players returned to the practice field Monday afternoon as the 2022 season officially opened around the North Coast Section, not only in football but for all fall season sports. The Trojans are looking for better things this year after a tough 2021 campaign when they played only seven games because of COVID-19 complications and a lack of players. Lower Lake's first live action comes Aug. 19 during the annual Lake County Scrimmage at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport. The Trojans' season opener is a Sept. 2 road game against Rio Vista, part of a three-game preseason schedule that has Lower Lake on the road for all three games. Their first home game is Sept. 23 against Middletown, the North Central League I opener for both schools. (Photos by Minenna Photography)
