UPPER LAKE — The Cougar Invitational varsity volleyball tournament takes place Friday at the Upper Lake High School gym.
This year’s bracket includes host Upper Lake along with Clear Lake, Kelseyville, Middletown and Mendocino. Following round-robin play the top two teams will square off for the tournament championship when the next-best two teams play for third place.
The tournament schedule is as follows: Upper Lake vs. Mendocino and Clear Lake vs. Middletown at noon; Kelseyville vs. Upper Lake and Mendocino vs. Middletown at 1:10 p.m.; Clear Lake vs. Kelseyville and Upper Lake vs. Middletown at 2:20 p.m.; Mendocino vs. Clear Lake and Kelseyville vs. Middletown at 3:30 p.m.; and Upper Lake vs. Clear Lake and Mendocino vs. Kelseyville at 4:40 p.m.
The championship and third-place matches take place at 5:50 p.m.
Junior varsity teams return to the Upper Lake gym on Saturday to compete in their own bracket.
