Sharon Ryan, Executive Vice President California, MNG, announced “After more than four decades of dedicated service to journalism in the magazine and newspaper industries, Jim Gleim, VP and group head of Media News Group’s Northern California region for the past 13 years, has announced his retirement in late September. Ever the thoughtful manager and creative planner Jim is leaving behind Steve Bressoud and Mazi Kavoosi, experienced industry leaders to manage the region in as Divisional Publishers. Steve will oversee the operations in Santa Cruz, Vallejo, Vacaville, Lakeport, Ukiah, Ft Bragg, and Mendocino.”
Jim Gleim commented “Obviously you reach this point in your life with some massive mixed feelings. My divisional team and those I have had the pleasure of working with across the newspapers in NorCal these past 13 years have been nothing short of amazing; delivering a community crafted, unique product daily to the doorsteps, desktops and devices of our readers. I will always be grateful for their support and devotion to the cause and will miss them and the role terribly. But the grandkids are growing up way too fast and with a recent move they have conveniently congregated in the Milwaukee area. So, at this point in their lives and ours that is where we feel we need to be. “
Steve has been the Chief Financial Officer for the Northern California Community Newspaper group which is comprised of local newspapers stretching from Monterey to Eureka. “In my last 25 years as the CFO I have been blessed to have worked with numerous outstanding publishers, editors, sales executives, circulators, and other departmental leaders to understand their goals and challenges. I am excited to work with the talented staff at our local papers and welcome the opportunity to continue the legacy of local news through our newspapers and websites.” Steve states.
