WILLITS — Luke Percaccio scored the only points of the first half on a 64-yard touchdown run and the Westshore pee wee youth football team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 13-0 victory over Willits in a Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League game on Saturday in Willits.
Percaccio also accounted for the only points in the second half when he scored on a 37-yard run following a Willits turnover in the third quarter.
While Westshore’s offense had a tough time solving the Willits defense, the Cardinals’ defense stepped up its level of play while recording the shutout. Defensive end Chase Poland had a quarterback sack on a big third down play and he also made several tackles that resulted in losses. Defensive tackle Kevin Burrows also registered multiple tackles as did Anthony “Foxx” Crespo and Anthony Burrows.
Westshore hosts another undefeated team in Middletown (2-0) on Saturday.
In other Westshore-Willits action on Saturday, Willits won the junior varsity game 32-0 while the Cardinals beat Willits 26-7 in varsity action. The Westshore JVs are 2-1 on the season and the varsity is 1-2.
