WILLITS — It wasn’t a win but it also wasn’t a loss.

The Clear Lake High School boys soccer team, winless on the season, managed a 0-0 tie with the Willits Wolverines in North Central League I action Tuesday in Willits.

“We did a good enough job to keep us in the game,” Clear Lake head coach Kevin O’Brien said of the play of his defense. “We created one or two scoring opportunities going forward, but I don’t know if we were really threatening.”

Added O’Brien, “It was a midfield battle. We were good enough as a team to keep them off the scoresheet.”

Clear Lake keeper Rodolfo Arias had a number of saves, according to O’Brien.

“One really nice save and a couple of other solid saves,” O’Brien said.

Clear Lake travels to Middletown on Thursday before closing out its season next Tuesday at home against Lower Lake.
