LOWER LAKE — Behind the serving consistency of Meghan Renfro, Skylar Towlerton and Sierrah Profitt, the Mountain Vista Middle School Lancers of Kelseyville defeated Konocti in A-team volleyball action Wednesday night at Lower Lake High School.
“We really came together as a team and supported one another on the court tonight and it really showed with the defensive stats pretty evenly divided among all the girls,” Mountain Vista head coach Sara Hanson said. “It was great to see everyone read the ball and play with confidence tonight.”
Riley Hanson led the Lancers with six kills, one block and eight aces while Alex Walker added four aces. Renfro added three kills and Yuri Montero two kills.
“Her passing and tip coverage was awesome tonight,” Hanson said of Walker.
Other Mountain Vista leaders were Josie Keithly and Bianca Sapiens, both of whom played solid defense.
Kelseyville is 6-1 in league play. The Lancers remain on the road Friday to play Upper Lake.
Konocti won the B-team match 25-15, 25-19 despite strong serving and passing from Mountain Vista’s Bella Boyles, Evan Winkle and Gabby Keyes. Offensive standouts for the Lancers were Olivia Arredondo, Kaia Bohan and Brooklyn Young.
