LOWER LAKE — The Konocti Rams dropped the first set to Upper Lake but rallied to beat the Wildcats 21-25, 25-17, 15-14 in a B-team middle school volleyball match Thursday at Lower Lake High School. It was the regular-season finale for both squads.
Jazzmyne John served six aces in the decisive third set while teammate Olivia Paul had four others aces in the same set to power the Rams to the come-from-behind win.
“It was intense,” Konocti coach Luis Perez said of the three-set match. “Upper Lake came to play and gave us a fight.”
While John and Paul came up big for the Rams in the third set, Perez called it a team win.
“All of the team did well today, kind of a mix of everyone,” Perez said. “My girls made it happen.”
Konocti finishes 8-2 in league play. The Rams will advance to the league tournament beginning next Thursday at Upper Lake Middle School. The league tournament concludes Nov. 5.
