Middletown High School varsity football head coach Bill Foltmer was honored for his 300th career victory, which came on Oct. 21 at Cloverdale, prior to the start of Friday’s home game against St. Helena. The five-minute-long presentation included a list of Foltmer’s many coaching achievements during his career, which began at Princeton High School in Colusa County (1980-84). Foltmer’s first season at Middletown came in 1985 and he has won 282 games with the Mustangs, including a 20-7 victory on Friday against the Saints, Foltmer’s 301st career win. He’ll try for No. 302 this coming Friday when the Mustangs visit Justin-Siena of Napa in the opening round of the North Coast Section Division 6 playoffs. Kickoff is 7 p.m. (Photo by Brian Sumpter)
