NAPA – At press time Tuesday, Congressman Mike Thompson released the following statement after being re-elected to serve the newly numbered Fourth District in the United States Congress.
“I am humbled and honored to have earned the trust of our district to represent our community in Congress. Serving the people of the district where I was born, grew up and raised my family is the greatest honor of my life. Know that I will work tirelessly in the upcoming Congress to ensure our district is the best place in the nation to raise a family, start a business, and retire with dignity.
“I look forward to representing the new fourth district in Congress, though I am sad to no longer represent the communities of Benicia, Crockett, Hercules, Martinez, Pinole, Rodeo, and Vallejo. I have greatly enjoyed working in these communities for the last ten years and it will be hard to say goodbye to the incredible people and organizations that have served our district.
“I look forward to continuing to work to advance policies that bolster the middle class, lower the cost of housing and health care, address our climate crisis, and help keep our communities safe. Know that I will continue fighting hard for our district and accomplishing the things that will move us forward.”
