LAKEPORT — The Middletown Colts added two more championship banners to their collection Saturday as both the varsity and pee clubs were victorious in the Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League finals at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport.

Middletown’s varsity avenged its only loss of the season with a 28-12 win over a Kelseyville team it lost to 22-16 during the regular season. The varsity Colts went 9-1 on the season, including their two playoff victories.

In the pee wee championship game, Middletown wrapped up a perfect 10-0 campaign with a 28-6 win over Westshore. Avenging a loss to Westshore in last year’s final. The Colts allowed only 12 points all season.

Middletown’s bid for a sweep of the championship games at Don Owens Stadium came up just short as top-seeded Willits won 14-13 in the junior varsity finals. The Colts went 7-3 on the season, two of those losses to Willits (10-0).

Middletown won both the varsity and JV championships in 2021 while Westshore defeated Middletown for the pee wee title a year ago.
