Clear Lake High School junior Hannah Garrity will be looking to improve on the second-place medal she won a year ago Saturday when the North Coast Section Cross Country Championships return to Hayward High School. Garrity runs in the Division 5 (Clear Lake, Kelseyville, Middletown) girls race at 9 a.m. The Middletown girls team is also gunning for a high finish with the hope of advancing to the CIF State Championships the following weekend at Woodward Park in Fresno. Garrity, the two-time defending Coastal Mountain Conference champion, reached the state meet last season. The Division 5 (Kelseyville, Middletown) boys race is 10 a.m. Lower Lake's runners compete in the Division 4 races (girls at 8:30 a.m., boys at 9:30 a.m.).
