LAKE COUNTY — Joey Gentle and Tyler Bryant of the Lake County High School Fishing Club topped the field during a Nov. 20 bass tournament at the Delta.

The event is part of the Student Anglers Tournament Trail and was hosted by East County Student Anglers High School. Tournament headquarters was Russo’s Marina on Bethel Island.

Gentle and Bryant, both Kelseyville High School student/athletes, brought a five-fish limit of 12.89 pounds to the scales to easily win the tournament. Joaquin Elliott and Vince Fonte of East County were second with 9.61 pounds while Maxwell Kaneko and Sam Shimabukuro of Delta Teen came in third with 9.05 pounds.

Twenty-nine teams participated.

Big-fish honors went to the eighth-place team of Landon Ford and Carter Martin of Vista Del Lago with a 4.97-pounder.

Gentle’s and Bryant’s big fish was 3.54 pounds.
