FORT BRAGG — Maddy Garner’s defense in the second half helped the Konocti Middle School A girls basketball team beat Fort Bragg 41-33 on Thursday night in Fort Bragg.
Fort Bragg held a 19-14 lead after a first half during which one Fort Bragg player scored 18 of the team’s 19 points. Garner was charged with guarding her in the second half and limited her to six points over the final two quarters.
Irianna Milano’s 13 points powered the Rams on offense while Brooklyn Tubbs added nine points and Aly Aguirre six. Garner and Khaya Chainey each had four.
Konocti, now 2-0 on the season, hosts Terrace Middle School of Lakeport on Wednesday night at Lower Lake High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
