LOWER LAKE — Playing a second game in as many nights, the Lower Lake High School varsity boys basketball team used a big fourth quarter to pull away from Summit Tamalpais during a 72-43 non-league victory Wednesday night in Lower Lake.

Jett Guralas scored half of his team-leading 22 points in the fourth quarter as the Trojans (4-3) outscored Summit Tamalpais 26-9 in the quarter. Guralas also had three of his four 3-pointers during the final period.

“The fourth quarter reignited the fire in the team,” Lower Lake head coach Blaine Amos said of an otherwise lackluster effort by his squad following a 55-43 league loss at home to Kelseyville on Tuesday.

“I laid into them at halftime,” Amos said of his players. “There were no fans, no energy at all. We played lackadaisical. We finally started playing ball in the fourth quarter. Until then we were playing tight, selfish, like we didn’t trust each other.”

Lower Lake led 34-23 at halftime and 46-34 entering the fourth quarter.

Micah Gurule (16 points) and Buddy Felder (11 points) joined Guralas in double figures.

Lower Lake beat Summit Tamalpais 70-43 in its season opener Nov. 14 at Vallejo.

The Trojans continue their consecutive-games-played stretch Thursday against Elite (5-4) of Vallejo in the opening round of the St. Vincent Tournament in Petaluma. The tournament runs through Saturday.

Lower Lake also beat Summit Tamalpais in the junior varsity game.
